Cam is human sunshine. Pure and unfiltered, beaming blissfully. You can practically hear her vibrant smile through the lively “Classic.” And through this pandemic, she is the artist I’ve gravitated to the most. Her music, fashion, aesthetic, imagery on social media, and her stance she takes on the world – there’s this nurturing vibe drawing me in.
The Grammy-nominated artist meshes a California-cool ambiance and the charms of a stroll in a dainty downtown with “Classic.” It’s the comfort of what you’re accustomed to that centers your focus. Collaborating with Jack Antonoff, who co-wrote the track, as well as produced it, they convey a perspective that is pertinently descriptive and nostalgic.
“Jack and I caught something in the air that day and ran with it,” Cam says. “The track is so much fun. Jangling guitars, claps, it feels like when a group of familiar people get back together over the holidays, clanking around after dinner with too much wine, and amidst the chatter and laughter and closeness they are really telling each other, deep down, just how much they love each other.”
“Classic” reveals another poetic piece from her upcoming album “The Other Side” set for release on October 30, 2020. Three tracks, including “Diane,” “Till There’s Nothing Left,” and “Redwood Tree” are available now and merit a spot on your backyard, sultry summer day playlists. You can pre-order the complete collection now – be sure to check out the cool bundles she’s created, too. Did I mention I cannot wait for this album?
An independent force, Cam, is an accurate definition of a creator. An architect of bridging human experiences with swirling sounds of country, folk, and pop. As a music fan, you search for muse like her, who renders life the way only those once-every-few generation singers do. An imaginative modern “Classic” in every way.
